Passport to Diversity Initiative: Eye-Catching Resumes: Crafting a Resume That Employers Will Notice

We’ve all heard the rules and requirements for legal resumes, but what is it that employers really want to see.  What makes them chose one resume over another?  These legal insiders will let you in on the resume components that catch their eye and the ones that make them pass. A panel of 2-4 Baker & McKenzie LLP attorneys will discuss the dos and don’ts of resume writing.

2013 UHLC IP Resume Book

Interested in intellectual property law, but not sure how to find the firms or companies that are looking for you? Would you like to be able to send these employers your resume? Here’s your chance to do just that!

The UHLC Career Development Office is preparing the 2013 UHLC IP Resume Book. Three separate resume books will be emailed out, assuming a minimum of 10 students are interested in each:

Book One will be sent to IP employers of various sizes in the Houston area

Book Two will be sent to IP employers in the Eastern District of Texas

Book Three will be sent to IP employers nationwide

If you would like to participate in this exciting opportunity, please follow these steps:

  1. As soon as possible, but before April 15, upload your resume into Symplicity.
  2. Under the Documents Tab, choose the “Opt-In Resume Book.”
  3. Choose the “Select Resume Books” button under your resume.
  4. Check the resume books in which you want to be included and click “submit.”
It’s that easy!  All resumes must be submitted by April 15 to be included in the resume books!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bill Powers in the Career Development Office at wapowers@central.uh.edu.
