Public Interest Job of the Week – Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor



The Office of the Solicitor seeks 1Ls and 2Ls for its summer internship program in its Washington DC headquarters and various regional offices. Interns conduct legal research on a variety of environmental and administrative law issues, as well as issues involving Indian law. They draft memoranda, briefs and motions, and may assist with discovery in active cases.

The office employs more than 300 attorneys nationwide and provides legal representation for the U.S. Department of the Interior, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land management, Bureau of Reclamation, Minerals Management Service, National Park Service, Office of Surface Mining, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
