Texas Access to Justice Commission – Pro Bono Spring Break

Pro Bono Spring Break, sponsored by all nine Texas law schools and the Texas Access to Justice Commission, will allow law students the opportunity to work with low-income Texans who have unmet civil legal needs during the week of March 9 - 14, 2014. Students from the University of Houston will be placed with either Lone Star Legal Aid or Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse.

Law students will not only be exposed to the dire legal circumstances faced by low-income Texans, but they will also have the opportunity to practice and hone their legal skills such as, advocacy, client interviewing, and legal decision-making. The cost of meals, and travel and lodging where needed, will be covered by the Texas Access to Justice Commission.

Applications forms are available in the Document Library in Symplicity or in The Career Development Office. Applications due on January 31, 2014.
