Sponsored by the UHLC Career Development Office, the Small & Midsize Firm Week is a week-long series of career panels discussing the advantages and challenges of working at small and midsize firms (50 or fewer attorneys).  The week culminates in the Small & Midsize Firm Open House, Friday, February 28, 2014, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, where local employers have the opportunity to share information about their firms, and, where available, opportunities for the upcoming summer, academic year or permanent positions. Students interested in niche practice areas or the hands-on training and experience typical of smaller firms should attend this recruiting program. Click here for more information.

Small & Midsize Firm Open House - The open house is open to all current UHLC 2L and 3L students.  Employers participating in the open house will be looking to share knowledge with students about their practice or, if opportunities are available, hire law clerks for Spring 2014, Summer 2014, Fall 2014, and/or the post-bar period.  Employers will also be looking for current 3Ls to fill permanent attorney positions.

Students come to the fair dressed in business attire and equipped with resumes and cover letters.  Employer representatives are placed at tables designated by the firm’s name and students freely move among tables speaking with the representatives about their firms and practice areas. Students may provide resumes and cover letters to employers.

A list of participating Small & Midsize Firm Open House employers will be available here for UHLC students to review on February 14, 2014. For more information about this open house, UHLC students should contact their UHLC career counselor.
