Rosenberg Fellowship Program

The University of Houston is proud to announce its new, long-term fellowship program, the Yale Leonard and Irene Merker Rosenberg Fellowship Program. Through this program, select public interest organizations will host a 2014 Law Center graduate to work with its office for a 13 month period. This is a great way for our students to create a foothold in the legal public interest community. For more information, go to: http://www.law.uh.edu/pil/Rosenberg-fellowship/.

Note that applications for the Rosenberg Fellowship position at Tahirih Justice Center are now being accepted in the Symplicity Job Bank. Log in and search for Job ID# 10175 to apply.

Past CDO Program Videos Available Online

If you missed any of the great programs hosted by the CDO this past academic year, you can go back and view the videos at the bottom of this page: http://www.law.uh.edu/career/cdo-events-calendar.asp. You’ll need to log in with your Cougarnet ID and password.

Dallas Association of Young Lawyer’s Swearing-In Ceremony
Wednesday, May 14, 2014 | 4:00 pm | Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX

The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers’ Law Student Assistance Committee is hosting a Swearing-In Ceremony, open to all individuals who have recently passed the Texas bar exam and successfully completed all other requirements necessary to be sworn in.  Families of the newly licensed attorneys are also encouraged to attend. Justice Ada Brown of the 5th District Court of Appeals for the State of Texas has graciously agreed to conduct the ceremony.

This is a great alternative to the Swearing-In Ceremony in Austin for those who are unable or choose not to travel.  It is also a great opportunity for these soon-to-be Dallas lawyers to learn more about the Dallas legal community.

Date: Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 4:00 pm
Location: Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75201 (parking available for a small fee)

Interested students should RSVP to Cherie Harris at cherieh@dayl.com and indicate the number of guests who will be attending. It is important that each student bring their letter from the Board of Law Examiners indicating that they have met all of the requirements and are ready to take the oath.
